heroes + Henchman Questions....
Basically, I plan on attempting to do GW with H/H with one or two of my characters and i was wondering....
How good are henchman healers compared to Hero healers since if I can bring more damage dealers and leave the healing to the henchman, then I will. Apart from the healers, what are the best henchman to take? (all campaigns + expansion) hopefully I can get through the tougher missions without failing (ie hells princepe) since I don't want to use PUGs unless I have no choice >_> |

depends on which henchie healer your talking about, and more importantly what build your hero is running (and weather they are runed or not).
best henchies all depends on the area you are in, well really there are no best henchies, you have to work out what your fighting and what sort of damage is in the area, and what build your running. |

probably should have been more specific yeah.
Ok in terms of henchie healers, lets say Mhenlo + Lina (prophecies since my characters will be doing prophecies first) since Alesia well....isn't exactly the best >_> Three of my characters are casters as well so i am not sure if I should bring more casters or one or two melees (stefan, devona) (when i say caster, I mean necro, mesmer and ele) |

I agree. The hero's are better cause you can set the skills and attribute points. You can also pick weapons and armor runes for them. On top of that to some degree you can force them to fight as you wish. You can open their skills bar while fighting and tell them what skill to use next. It can get busy as there can be 3 heros and the hero's can all have pets.
Henchman can not. You can not flag henchies. However some there is a useful interupt (spelling) henchie that I do use on a regular basis. I hope that this helps. |

You're going to get different opinions from different people. Best thing to do is try different combinations until you find what works for you.
Generally, I would say go with monk hench and use heroes as damage dealers. I find that in areas that have two monk hench that they synergize well. If you have all three necro heroes you might want to check out Sabway for your hero set-up. It works well in most situations. http://www.pvxwiki.com/wiki/Build:Te...Necro_Vanquish |

Using that build that Mony metioned, Alesia is better then no monk at all. I think the N/Rt in that build does most of the healing anyway. I have used her with some success, even in HM.

Eve/Claude always get on my team unless I take a Necro hero. Blood Ritual is a big help for extended fights and heavy caster class teams. I actually avoid melee hench when possible. I find they tend to aggro when I don't want them to, and chase monsters too far away from the healers. This makes the healers run too far into trouble.
Prophecies hench are the worst in the game. Cynn and Orion love to use Firestorm which makes monsters run. They also have a habit of using it on a monster that dies before it finishes casting. Dunham is ok, but he tends to forget to kite. He can slow things down with Crippling Anguish and can remove a hex with Shatter. Alesia and Mhenlo I use only when required. Their use of Healing Touch is bad. Lina isn't bad at all. I use her a lot. She isn't as good as I'd like, but very usable. Just which she had hex/condition removal. Reyna and Aidan are average. The are damage dealers, not condition spreaders or interrupters. They survive nicely, but their damage isn't significant. I take them when I need another spot filled. In general, I use Dunkoro to heal, Livia as an MM, and either an anti caster Mesmer or an interrupt Ranger. Hench I take the protect Monk (Lina for Prophecies), Claude/Eve, and Orion/Cynn. If I know I don't want things scattering from Firestorm, I take Dunham instead of Orion/Cynn. |

When I run H/H, I use heros for 2 healers and 1 MM because I have good builds on them. For warriors I take henchies because it doesnt take much brains to smash things.

If you have MM, you don't even need a warrior. Since I've been running the tri-necro build, I don't even use a warrior anymore.

Also on that 3 necro build, one is a healer and the minion bomber has some protection spells so at most you might need one other healer/protection member in your party. |
